Crisis Response Portal Minimize

The crisis response portal is hosted by the Asia Pacific Area Network and is the point of entry and information exchange with the disaster response capability of the US Pacific Command. If you have requests for information or support from USPACOM please use this link.

For general information on relief efforts refer to our other links, particularly OCHA links (ReliefWeb, Virtual OSOCC, etc)

Asia Pacific Area Network, an open information sharing network supported by the US Pacific Command has developed a template for contingency operations.  In the event of a contingency the Pacific Command Joint Operations Center can quickly establish an information sharing website, using this format. The link will take you to a template. It is currently configured to support Cyclone Sidr relief operations. The template provides the ability for quick setup and for anyone to quickly locate/distribute information as needed.

The APCSC portal is focused on building steady state relationships, building security capacity, and developing disaster resiliency. We are not designed to provide operational information exchange at times of crisis, but we assist the sites that are focused on immediate response in two ways. First, it is through pre existing social networks and professional relationships that crisis response portals are able to become immediately effective. Second, we link from the APCSC portal to sites that are relevant to the region and are focused on response. One such site is the Crisis Response Portal established by the Asia Pacific Area Network, found just to the right. This site is set up and ready to go, and includes functionalities for cross sector information exchange.
All that is lacking is specific information on the nature of the emergency and the area in which it is happening.
